Good evening,
We are all dealing with unprecedented events. There is a change in the coronavirus situation every minute of every day and we as healthcare providers have the responsibly to fight for the greater good of our communities. We must think about our close contact with patients in a dental setting as a potential propagation of a serious illness. Many patients who are asymptomatic may still be contagious and could be carriers of the virus. We must use clinical decisions to treat patients the best we can while continuing social distancing.
Our focus is on the safety of our patients, coworkers, and families. In order to comply with the CDC guidelines, starting March 18th we began limiting our practice to emergency services. We will reschedule all elective procedures to May 17th and forward, pending the rapidly progressing situation. We will be open and accepting calls for emergency patients, including those who are in severe pain or have severe infections, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
In order to be as safe as possible we will continue our sterile techniques with, personal protective equipment. This includes gloves, facemasks and long gowns. We will screen for possible high-risk patients prior to arrival and will have patients wait in their cars if they are uncomfortable sitting in the waiting room. We will sanitize the office as we always have with operating room and hospital grade disinfectants and cleaning supplies after each patient. We will have hand sanitizer and hand washing stations readily available and confirm patients are using them appropriately.

If we haven’t already met, let me introduce myself. My name is Becki, and I’m a registered dental assistant at Drs. Rosen and Dworkin. I started my dental career in 2008 at the front desk. I was curious to know what happened clinically, and the doctor I worked for encouraged me to get my dental radiology license in 2011. I was encouraged again to become a CDA (Certified Dental Assistant). Once achieved, I pursued my RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license.
As an RDA for Drs. Rosen and Dworkin since 2017, I understand how this practice is different than others. Our longevity (over 40 years) is a testimony of how we care for our patients and families; some 4 generations deep! As an employee, your growth is supported, and teamwork is evident (whether it’s a supportive hug or a good belly laugh!). As part of my growth, I added the role of Safety Officer in 2024. I was fortunate to win an essay contest hosted by The Dale Foundation in 2025, through which I received my CDIPC (Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control) certification and proudly add those initials to the end of my name! What’s next???
I began writing in 2026, and have two published articles (Infection Control Today, Clean Bite: No Time for April Foolin’ With PPE | Infection Control Today April 2026, and The Dental Assistant Journal, Dental Assistants Journal August 2026 “Dental Anxiety: Battling the Beast”). Blessed with the gift of gab and vocabulary, Drs. Rosen and Dworkin have graciously offered me an opportunity to begin a monthly article to share with all of you!
